In summer, the area around Prinsengut offers a unique combination of nature experiences, outdoor activities and relaxation in the Hochkönig region.
The famous Königsweg connects the villages of Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach across approximately 74 kilometres, winding through impressive mountain landscapes, unspoilt nature and idyllic alpine meadows. Also very popular are the herb hikes to the 13 herb alpine pastures, where you can discover the diversity of alpine flora.
The region is also a true highlight for cyclists. The Hochkönig region is recognised as the world's first e-bike region with charging stations at numerous alpine huts. High-quality e-bikes can be hired directly in Hinterthal at Sport Mayer – perfect for exploring the mountain scenery comfortably on two wheels.

An easy to moderate hike with the option to stop at the Hochmais Alm (halfway) as well as the Steinbockalm with its swing park and wonderful views of the Hochkönig and the Dienten valley.
A lovely circular walk (approx. 1.5 hours) with a stream, natural springs and – with a bit of luck – marmots.
Perfect for families: mountain railway, climbing park, slide trail and a refreshing mountain lake with panoramic views.
A more challenging ascent, but absolutely worth it. Breathtaking views, great food and archery on offer.
